What to do when the fish DON'T spawn?

I've had minimal spawning activity in my pond this year. Some of the newer koi, probably about a year and a half in age, released some eggs earlier in the year, but that all stopped a couple months ago. What has me worried is that both my oldest koi (4years) and oldest comet (5years) are still bearing eggs and never showed any signs of spawning this year. Is this going to cause any problems for them? Is there any chance they will try to spawn again next year?

Mine didn't spawn till August last year. Our new pond rebuild had one small spawn this year but most of the fish are small -4-5". Our large pond with the older koi never spawned this year but I sold all my adult males.
