Heard all about pond filtration. What do you do for yourself?
When I lived downtown, in an old (50's) house I would drink sweet water right from the faucet. Then we bought a new home up in the suburbs and our water came from a different treatment facility. And WOW is it treated! I can't drink it straight, smells like a swimming pool, brushing teeth is tolerable but that's it. They say this 'Chalk Bluff' treatment center is state of the art and provides above standards drinking water. That's all well and good but give me something I can drink!
We started out going downtown to where they had artisan wells and you could buy water by the gallon (25cents). They also offered distilled if that's your flavor. I'd get 15gal and it would last for around two weeks... But what a hassle to go get water and store it and lift 5gl containers, ugg, NO. Then we progressed to the filter pitcher, a PUR brand, water tasted good with much less effort but those cartridges get spendy after a while. After two PUR models I got a Zero Water pitcher, water tasted awesome but those filters even more $$ and the pitcher design is frustrating to use. Finally ditched all those toys for a new fridge with filtered (PUR) water and ice, the water is regulated to 50* so I prefer ice water. It's been great this summer for sure.
