I feed mine Tetra Koi Vibrant (somthing like that) food but, wonder if anyone has found the perfect fish food that can really kick their growth into high gear? I sort of became partial to the Tetra cause I see it pretty easily being orange and the fish seem to really like it. I've tried some others and fish won't even come up or not eat it aggressively like they do with the Tetra. On other sites I read how people are feeding some special food blends and getting some serious growth numbers. I know some is genetics but some has to be what they're eating too.

My koi will not come to the surface to let me feed them to save my life, so I had to go with a sinking food that a pond store near me makes itself. The store is called Tricker's. It is the oldest pond plant store in the US. They call it Innurco. The label says 40% Cornmeal, 20% Oatmeal, 15% Ground Beef, 12.5% Whole Wheat Flour, 12.5% Rice Flour. Don't ask me how they get Ground Beef into it.

Most of the time I feed Hai Feng Quick Grow. This isn't a growth food. This is not a growth food.
When I get the new pond going in the Summer months I will feed Tomaigai wheat germ. This is a groeth food. It has about 50% protein. I want to see if I can get a koi to 40".

I have had good results with Blue Ridge growth food. It is not expensive and my 1 year olds measured out at 10-16".

I use that and the fall mix.And frozen pea's.Mine really don't like watermelon or oranges, but they go through a bag of peas a week and a can of vibrant& groweth tetra food.Tetra also sells a growth food as well.here's the link. Be careful of other compaines as they have steriods in there foods.Plus try not to measure your koi with other people's koi's as there are many Variety's of koi's.............. so they grow different. All my koi and goldfish have added up to 3 inches or more just this season.I'd imagine that the bigger pond helped ,but I like the food I get for them.

Also let me mention,if you decide ti use frozen peas, make sure you remove the shell ,as fish cannot digest the shell, fish have no stomach. And I like to soak mine in luke warm water to help with the thawing process.I learned my lesson the hard way by giving my fish frozen pea's, they all yelled @ me something about brain freeze!!!!!!!! lol

I feed mine Tetra Koi Vibrance 3 times per day, I would have used the Tetra Growth, for the first year only, just to bulk them up for their first winter, if anyone around here sold it.

In the Fall I will switch to Tetra Spring & Fall Diet. I will also cut down the number of feedings per day.

Yeah, I want some serious 40" water pigs as well. Had some pretty good growth this year, probably around 3 -5 inches depending on the Koi. Might have to try the Tetra growth next year.

Just wondering if there was a mass use of one particular type food over others.
