For some months now I have noticed that one Koi/cross fish has been "propelling" itself above the surface of the water with its mouth open in what seems as if the fish is taking in air. During the summer months I believed it to possibly "feeding bugs" etc off the surface but this action has continued into this cold weather. It does it every few minutes. Anybody any thoughts on the reason for this behaviour.
