I think we finished most of the digging this weekend. Here is a picture. We have a major problem though. My husband dug it too close to the house and the porch again. I am very worried about plumbing the bd and skimmer, the plumbing was going to run beside the house, but I don't know if there is enough room for it now. The pond is 9x16x4 on the right side, and 9x16x2 on the left side (as you are looking at the picture). We are going to build a deck around the left side and that is where I will put my plants. What do ya'll think?

It looks like there is enough area for the plumbing alongside the house. That will be nice when you are done

Thanks addy, I hope so. I can see the end result in my mind, I hope it turns out like I envision it!! LOL koiguy, we're trying, hopefully, the bottom will dry out today. We had it leveled nicely with just a little standing water and then my daughter and I started playing in the mud, lol. Later in the afternoon, my stepdaughter and grandson (he is almost 5) came to visit and I had to play in it again with him. We made a huge mess, but is was fun!!

Thanks pond boy!!! Ready to continue working, but we have to wait for the bottom to dry out a little more. Addy, sometimes, I like to take a few minutes and have some fun, even though it probably wasn't the smartest move because of the mess in the bottom of the pond now. lol

We are making progress. Got held up last week due to rain. Does anyone have any recommendations?

Yes, we call it salt treated down here, but I think it is the same. The hubby is a contractor and had this was left over from one of his jobs. We're going to cover it with 2 layers of carpet padding that my BIL gave us, then a layer of rubber roofing material that one of his friends gave us, then the liner.

you cheated there a little you used a gas digger and if they helped they are mighty clean helpers lol I took a pond out yesterday and had mud and yuck from head to toe .But got some great plants out of the deal and a 200 or 300 gallon preformed pond .
