Help I think I have screwed up my pond liner I cut the liner too low thinking I could just lay the bog garden liner over it. How do I attach the waterfall liner coming out of the bog to my pond liner

Ouch! I can’t help you, but I feel your pain. I’m sure there are fixes, and we have a lot of great minds on here who might be able to help.

From those pictures, it looks like you are ok.
As long as you have some overlap, maybe 18"-24", it should be ok.
I would stress that you give attention to the sides of the spillway. Make sure the sides are higher than the resulting water level. Make the spillway concave shaped so the water can't go up over the sides.

You can make the spillway concave but still make it appear flat by laying stones in there to hide the liner and hide the concave shape.

Shape the spillway with your soil, then lay the liner over that, then add (decorative) stones.

Not only shape it concave, but also create flat shelves where your stones can sit on. If you don't do this and have a constant slope, the stones will slide down into the pond.

The liner is what holds the water and the stones are there to make it look good.

Hope this makes sense.

Oh, and for others reading this, now you know why we always say never ever cut any of your "excess" liner.

Fold it, tuck it, hide it under soil or stones, but never cut it.

You never know when you might need more liner. Ponds settle, you may need a liner covered berm to prevent ground water from entering the pond, you may want to add a waterfall or other feature, you may want to soften the edge by making it curved instead of straight and unnatural looking. So many reasons.

And let me add that you are doing a great job!

Keep us posted and don't hesitate if you have more questions.

Have you seen how I did my bog add-on and how I overlapped mine?
If not, here's a link....

@poconojoe ^^ has it down pat in his response. My bog was an add-on and I overlapped the liner about 18" into the pond and no leak problems.

And I can't stress enough when shaping the spillway. It needs to be deeper in the middle. The sides have to be much higher so the water can't flow or splash over them.

The stones are only there to make it all look good. The liner shape is the key.

Yep, no leaks here either.
Some people fear they need to add some type of adhesive in between the overlap, but I feel it's not necessary. Plus, your dealing with an existing dirty liner which you would have to prep for anything to stick to. In the end, any adhesive may not even stick well.
But....if you choose....some members have used a product called PL-S30. It's a common roof sealant that fits in a caulking gun.

This is a better picture of my waterfall where I cut my old pond liner too short. I have a huge thick liner to put in the waterfall should I lay it on top of the old liner or over the old liner thanks so much

I think you need to post this with your other thread instead of making it a separate thread. It helps with continuity.

How much elevation change is there between pond water level and the lowest point of you waterfall spillway?

How much liner are we talking about?

What is the distance between the normal surface of the water and the cut end of the liner?
In other words, how much liner is sticking up above the pond's water?

If you don't seem to have enough liner for the new liner to overlap, you can change the pond wall. Lower the water, lift the liner away from the wall and fill in some soil. Basically making the pond very slightly smaller so you have more liner.
Does that make sense? I hope so!
