I love pond life. I have a new member in my the little ecosystem, a water scorpion, Ranatra. I don't remember ever seeing one before and I spent a lot of time in creeks and ponds growing up. It is a very cool, freaking looking 2-3" bug. When I found it I only saw it legs first hanging on to the feeder ring, then noticed the long "tube" from the abdomen reaching up to the water surface. It looked like a breathing tube and later found out it was. It looks like a walking stick. I found several pics online and will photograph it if I see it again.
