I'm replacing my old pump, when the new one arrived it has a 1.5" outlet. My piping is 2". If I use a reducer to make it fit, will it cause a pressure loss due to going from a small pump outlet to large pipe? The pipe is about 25 feet at about a 3 foot lift to the waterfall.Pump is 5300 GPH. I hate to wait on another pump if I can make this one work. Any thoughts?

You will loose pressure as your pushing more water per foot . however you will not have a loss in volumn as you would taking a 2" outlet on the pump and stepping down to a 1 1/2" inch supply pipe a 2" pipe can allow more water to flow then can a 1 1/2" pipe
