Lots more info needed -
Pond size, type of filtration, waterfall, liner or preform, any plants… any info you can share will be helpful.

I guess it depends where your pond is, how big is it, how much sun does it get, what are the temperatures etc. I had a leak, where it was too low of a spot thankfully so water was leaking and was draining in a lower part of the yard, bit hard to spot when there's gravel around the pond, so look for things like that, but a leak like that stops at a certain point.

I have no more leaks in the pond, but the reality is water is still gonna evaporate, 6" seems a bit too much though, but you'll need to tell us more details, for anyone to be sure of anything.

Just a small pond approx 8ft x 5ft, no plants, gets quite a bit of sun

Hello and welcome!

Can you post a picture of the pond? My suspicion turns toward evaporation, but seeing how you are set up might give some clues.

@Beth
Yes a photo or a few would be good and what kind of filter? Do you live in a very hot area? Temps now during the day? If you turn off the filter does the water lever still go down? We can help just need as much info as possible :happy:

Have you ever just let the water drain until it stops or drastically slows down . At th at level is probably where your leak is
