I have a backyard liner pond approx 12x6. I started out with 5 plants and now they have multiplied and now cover the entire pond. My question is can you have too many and is it harmful to the koi?

The only danger of having them cover the entire water surface is oxygen depletion. We don't know enough about your pond to really say. But to be safe I would remove enough to get a few feet of open water. You can compost sell or give them away.

:trampolin: Good golly I done think she's gone insane :trampolin:

While you're at it, do you think you can turn the sky red and make water flow uphill? Those should be easy after training a koi!

You should be able to trim off much of what you have. Just a few inches past the growing tip and what roots are attached to it.

Are you referring to hyacinths? Man and I thought they were outrageously priced here at $5 a plant! Time for you to learn the secret art of raising your own hyacinths indoors during the Winter...

I picked up 2 each of small hyacinth and water lettuce a few weeks back I think around 5-6 bucks each. I put them in plastic mesh baskets in my biofalls and they are branching off like crazy. When they start filling up the basket to much I trim a section off and toss it in the pond. Not over taking the pond yet but seems like every few days...at least once a week I'm tossing in a new clump of hyacinth from the falls baskets. The water lettuce is multiplying more slowly but still have trimmed a couple times. Might have to post an add myself at some point this summer.
