I'm in Oregon's Willamette Valley, USDA hardiness zone 8b.
I'm planning on adding clean, smooth pebbles to the bottom of my new 2' deep, 165 gallon stock tank pond. I also plan on adding a variety of plants, a shallow structure so birds can bathe, native frogs (if they arrive naturally), and fish, but only if fish and frogs are able to co-habit, which I doubt? I will have some moving water, but not sure of the method, probably just enough to add some oxygen to the pond.
What are the pros and cons of having rock/gravel on the bottom of my stock tank pond? I like the look as opposed to seeing the metal bottom.
