We put in some nice led lights to be able to view the fish in the early dark evenings we are having.

They just hang out, eat the roots of the plants, poop, swim a little.

Usually in a group under the piece of liner I put in, that is floating on the surface, sometimes right below it, sometimes around 4 feet deep.

The lights sure make them glow. Still adjusting the lights to find the best place to have them.

They sure do enjoy that spot under the floating piece of liner and they show up really nice w/ your new light set up. Lots of pretty fishes!

What is the piece of floating liner for?

Once the plants all died, it gives them a hiding spot. The heron was still coming back to visit. I have left it in since the fish seem to really like being under it. If we ever get snow this year, I might pull it, but even with snow I don't think it will sink.

Might just be a setting with the dvr, will check and see if I can.

You have a fish cam???!!! How cool is that!!! HOW did you do it??? I need to set up a "turtle cam" next year :)

My first thought when I started watching? Oh, that's a computer screen saver, not a REAL pond.... What kinds of fish do you have?

It is a underwater camera, lorex, I love it! I also installed some led lights so I can watch them into the evening. I put the lights on a timer so they don't run all of the time.
We have the drv feed going into a led tv installed above our "real" tv, it is like having a live fish tank on the wall that requires no cleaning.

The camera feed goes into my dvr system, so I can record the fish anytime I wish.

It is a mixture of different types of goldfish, shubunkins. Some are comets, long finned shubunkins, maybe one watonia or tri tail subunkin, it was from petsmart , some pure white ones with yellowish heads. red with white, a mutt pond of fish, but I love them all lol

Agreed, best fish video I've ever seen. I also thought it was fake or slow motion. Something happened at the end, they all swam together, that was fun! Your fish are gorgeous! Bet you do enjoy watching them. What a neat idea! You are so very computer literate I sure wish I knew or understood more about them and cameras to do what you have done. Thank you so much for sharing! We'll all be anxious to see many more videos as the winter sets in. So far, it's not even close to winter weather here, but I know it's coming. It can wait a while as long as I'm concerned. I'm enjoying looking at my fish, even if they are all at the bottom resting. That is, all but the smallest of the goldfish! My tiniest one is so prettily marked! It has a white head and tail, then red front and back, and black spot in the middle. It was out swimming closer to the top eating. Poor little thing is only about 2" at most, and likely very hungry. I sure hope it makes it through the winter, but seems very hardy. Koi did seem to stay to the bottom, whereas goldies seemed to be meander more.

Thanks country, the water warmed to 38 today, the fish are really active. I tested our water, all is perfect, filter (bog) has been off for over a month now. No water changes, all is good.

I love watching them swim around, when it is really cold they settle on the bottom or right below the liner I have floating. They hardly move when it gets colder.

So far they are doing great, have some pretty ones growing in there.

Oh yeah sissy, I bet too, but with the higher fish population more eggs etc will be scarfed up. (I hope) Last spring we had just 4 fish, I think most of he eggs made it.
