Does anyone have any information on if by using powdered clay in a garden pond has any detrimental effect on a UV lamp within a filter. Bearing in mind the deposits it leaves on surface’s?

I've been using koi clay in my ponds for years without any negative detrimental effects on UV. I clean the glass sleeve for the UV about once a year, but that is mostly to removed deposits built up from the hard water here.
