Hi all,

Emergency question for everyone. Has anyone ever heard of anyone putting down Pond underlay, then the Liner over top and then
another layer of pond underlay?

I came home not along ago to find out that they did just that. They said that it will help prevent any possible damage to the liner
when laying the rocks, walking on etc.........

I do not see this as normal, what will hapen to the underlay when the water goes in, ROT mabey??

Please let me know.

Never heard of that, either. Extra liner is sometimes used under rocks for more protection, though. Maybe ask what the underlay is made of and if they can assure you it will not rot.

stroppy,

Yes it has some rocks on the bottom as they work there way up along the slope. The very bottom where it is 4.5 feet deep is free of rock which I will show
in a picture later on in another thread. There is no bottom drain.

I used some under layment under a few rocks in my previous pond, the dirt and algae stuck to it like glue due to the texture it had. Cloth like stuff. Yanked it and put in extra liner as a protection.
