I just finished this pond. It’s made of 4x4s and is 10’x16’ and is 28” deep. The beams are reinforced with rebar every 4’ and exterior 4x4 posts set into cement also as close to every 4’ as possible.
The bogs are 55 gallon stock tanks. The tanks are polyethylene so setting my bulkheads was a challenge (no caulk sticks to polyethylene I’ve learned). I used lava rock because the pond location is not close to vehicle access and this was a solo job. Lava rock is blessedly light!
The water is cloudy but surprisingly, the bogs are clearing it up quickly.
I know that my filtration is probably insufficient and I may need to add a third and possibly fourth bog at some point.
