READ this cut and paste from the videos page
attn:will not work on multiple grill or screen intake AKA Volute screen intake you need the same intake you see on the video.this pump is 750watts if you run 24/7 you go broke but any way i already bought small one @ebay 150watts and run like almost the same .... male adapter, valve from home depot, bigger sump pump handles more water more air can produce...
"NEW INVENTION" 3 in 1 water circulation, aeration/oxygen,protein skimmer my next project .... man that thing does put out some air tho

Same basic principle as a venturi. They create a bit of annoying noise though. If you can get the air intake beside a waterfall or something like that, you may be able to mask it. Venturis are great, but they sound like the worlds longest bong hit. Most people aren't willing to live with the weird water/air sucking sound. It's quite obnoxious.

i run a venturi and you cant hear it unless you're right on top of it...as far as something like this i would put it on a timer to run a couple times a day for maybe 30 minutes or so..maybe an hour at night.

Seems like that would be pretty hard on the pump taking that much air in. The pump does seem to beat the crap out of the air though and micro the bubbles.

those style pumps arent even made for continuous running anyways..they're for short interval running....but they have incredible pressure compared to a submersable pond pump. but with those results it wouldnt take long to get some good oxygen saturation.

been there done that and that dirty water pump is from harbor freight and if you get the 1/4 horse power and spread those pipes coming out wider they are better .But it is true that pump does give off some heat after about 12 hours of continues running and even warns you about that also on the box .Mine is on a timer and runs 2 hours at night ,when the plants are using up the oxygen .The float is really useless unless the water gets low in your pond it will prevent it from coming on .But the simple set up I use in the winter is really better .I got mine in an open damaged box for 10 dollars and use it for different things besides that and I don't have mine in a tote just a shorter pipe and wider and I use it also when I do my water changes ,Just lift it out and unscrew the the connector .

I used a slightly smaller pipe and got the same effects and the outlet pipes were set wider apart .I use mine to do water changes from the big barrel I put the water in before going back into my pond .I have the pump on a timer switch this way when I pull it out all I have to do is hit the switch to refill and the water is well water but pretty chilly when it comes out of the hose ,so this way it gets close to the same temp as the pond .Sometimes an the extra pump is nearby and use that instead .But even the 1/4 horse power runs warm after a couple of hours .

the trick is pumping the air through the motor. this really churns the oxygen into the water. You don't need such a big pump to do it though. I wanted to do this but I did not want to run a extra pump to do it.

If you don't have an air pump it's a good idea but I just use a single pump in the winter with a venturi on it .It works to keep an opening and keeps water aerated even in the winter after I turn my waterfall off and is usually well under water and keeps the pond cleaner and seems the fish love it .Sometimes I will find them cuddled up next to it .I guess it's like a bubble bath for them .
