I was struggling with an air diffuser that was barely bubbling. I would clean the surface and it would be ok - not great, just OK - for a day or two and then back to blub blub blub.

Finally ordered a new diffuser - different brand this time based on Amazon reviews - and HOLY BUBBLES BATMAN! What a difference! And just in time for the cold days ahead.

I will tell you the reviews were right. The diffuser that came with this air pump was nothing like this one. Never ever did we have bubbles like this with the original. I was beginning to think my pump was failing - nope! Just a lame diffuser.

simple dust. i have thought about taking the housing off the air pump and see if i can't get a hose onto the intake . then put that to a bottle with water in it to prevent this from happening . just like a bong only i wouldn't advise smoking it

I was having issues with my Aquascape pump. Turns out, I needed to replace the inner diaphragm mechanism thingy. But, the air stones got a really good soak and cleaning before I realized.

OK. That took a minute but now I get it. So my air pump is pulling in dust and pushing it to the diffuser?
yes the holes in the diffusers are made with a needle and not a punch . when the air pressure expands the rubber it finds it's way out clog those holes and it gets restricted more and more every day

thats primarily all i have but i have learned if i put my air for the bead filter on which is to break up the beads on while the filter is on on the dial but the pump is off fills the return jets with air and when the pump goes on its a venture jet blowing very fine bubbles that air got trapped in the water line

Mine was rubber also. So how do you clean them out? I think too late for mine as think it burned out the motor of the air pump.

Mine would get covered in really stuck on algae so I would scrub it off real good but it never really worked great, just ok. I was always puzzled how something that was constantly pushing air could get so covered in gunk. It seemed to attract debris to is rather than push it away.
