But on the bright side, every time I put another liner in I dig the hole bigger.
So now I have between 1800 and 1900 Gallons of water in the koi pond.

When I recently built our bog and small pond I used spare cut off pieces of liner from the big pond and laid them under and over the actual bog/pond liner for extra cushion and hopefully to prevent punctures.
