Hi everyone. I have a 100 gallon outdoor patio pond with goldfish. I have some water hyacinth and water lettuce. I also have a pump/filter with a little fountain and am now looking for some algae eaters. I’m just not sure which ones are best. The algae isn’t bad just a little green slime on the walls of the tank. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!!

That green short algae on the sides of your pond is good. Keep it as it will always be loved by the fish. Does not hurt anything and covers the black walls to look more natural.

Anything you put in there to eat the beneficial algae will disrupt the balance of your small pond. Most likely it will eventually starve, die and foul the water. 100 gallons is very small and easily overstocked. Personally, I would not put any fish in there given it is a patio pond with the potential for overheating.
