I figure if there are any eggs, they can hatch, and so far I've rescued several plants that I didn't know were in with the algae. So far, no smell, and the algae seems to be decomposing and going away. Ludwegia that got pulled is growing now. Not sure I will put it anywhere, but may just let it grow in there and bloom.
