As some of you know this winter I covered my pond with a dome like greenhouse. I am glad that I did this as all inhabitants are fine, and my plants are growing like crazy! My waterlily has 1 pad at the surface and another ready to surface, the iris' are about 8", and the tall grass or dwarf catails (not sure what they are as they were given to before winter) are about 16".

Now here comes the catch, our temps are above normal for this time of year so the pond temp up a little higher than I would have liked (73-F), and I got a nice algae bloom today, but I am afraid if I remove the cover the plants will suffer, or stop growing. So now I am not sure when to remove the cover?

I agree with the DrCase open part of it to let it cool down a bit, much like greenhouses do, when it gets too hot they open up some of the windows or have a fan circulate fresh air in.
