Ha ha no, we all had a nice get together down at one neighbors house and she brought her wiener dog and the lady of the house asked her to take her dog off the property for a short time so she could let her own dogs out for a break. She had a fit and fell in it and said " I know when I'm not welcome and took her dog and her poor hubby and left. I wasn't even there when it all happened but I went over to her afterwards and suggested she bring her dog back in a kennel. She did not like that suggestion at all and got mad at me too and hasn't spoken to me since. I guess since I didn't stand up for her I'm bad. But I mean what the hey, it was the other woman's house who has a perfectly good right to let her own dogs out on her own property right? I'm just baffled by it but enjoying my peace and quiet of phone not ringing constantly

Sad thing addy is I don't think it will last that long
I must have been bad in my last life and this is my punishment
I could just keep saying things that she won't like and that would get me a few little vacations once in awhile.
She does this w/ her family and friends a lot.
This is my first punishment from her in the few yrs that she has lived here

And let me ask.................addy.............are you experienced on how to hang prongs out of body parts? Sounds like you have done this before
Actually all I would have to do is suggest for her to do something normal that you would do to a dog and she would be flippin again. The dog is real needy and they cater to it's every whim. Dog comes before everything on this living earth and how dare I suggest they put her in a kennel. Turned out the dog hated fireworks and they would have had to leave anyways

well mira awoke me this morning at 6 o clock am, to tell me that the waterfall was not running so i got out of bed thinking that there was a power fault in the shed only to find my pond nearly empty, the water pipe from the pump had come out of the filter and there was about 6 inches of water left in the bottom of the deep end !! i lost 1 adult fish that got stuck in a dry area and 6 baby fishes, but i was lucky i didnt lose more, on the posative side the garden had a very good overnight watering, my lily was just about to open out in flower but now it hasnt quite come back to the surface, see how it is tomorow !

oh geeze sorry to hear that and your pond was on a good roll too .Do you know yet what caused it to happen and is everything ok .post and let us know .Hope at least your lily will be fine and also your other fish .How is your pump and everything else .You may want to invest in a float switch it turns your pump off when the water gets to a certain point I just got one .well a new one any ways .the dog destroyed the last one .

Sorry to hear about your pond troubles, Mogsie. A float switch, like sissy suggests, sounds like a good investment.

Sissy, I have soapstone counters and love them. You can set anything on them and no worries. They are softer than granite but any scratches disappear with a little mineral oil. Most folks with soapstone oil the counters to make them darker. I use an oil/beeswax mix - lasts much longer. I've had the counters for about four years now so I rarely oil them and they still stay dark.

J.W., I think addy has a good idea there about the fake tattoos. Maybe a nose ring, too.

My pond got a little green again after I accidentally dumped a new plant in it. The planting medium was full of fertilizer. From now on I'm keeping new plants a good distance from the pond until I can rinse off the soil.

It's cool here today. Cool enough to use the stove so I made chili and cornbread. Still waiting for true summer weather. :grumble:

We had a beautiful day here, 90ish but low humidity. But going back up to almost 100 on the weekend again.............darn and humidity coming back. The pond plants are going crazy.
