Hello,

Don here from the Houston area. I have a small 750 gallon pond. Had it for about two years now. I have one male koi, a female goldfish and about twenty offspring of those two. I don't know what you would call them. Most of them are gold colored, but five or six of them are dark colored.

I'm having some problems trying to keep the filter clean with that many fish. I am thinking of doing one of those DIY filters made from a large plastic garbage can.

You might want to try to find one of those 55 gallon drums, they are tougher.

welcome Don...for the Diy filter, get a 55 gal drum, or a stocktank. theyre more durable and have a greater capacity. and the 55 gal drums you can get for next to nothing at just about any automated carwash.. and you can never have too much filter, just not enough! once again welcome and its good to have you with us.
