I've just added a swan mussell to a small wildlife pond that has lots of frogs and spawn. Worried now that it might compete with them for food? I want all to thrive.

From what I have found, swan mussels are filter feeders, meaning they draw in water and consume small particles in that water. This is completely different from the way your frogs would eat, capturing small insects. Not sure if the spawn would eat matter small enough to compete with a filter feeder, maybe others could chime in on that one.
Another thing to keep in mind is that they do need a good substrate bed ( rocks, mud etc ) to anchor themselves and be able to thrive. Other than this they seem like a pretty easy and fun species to keep!
