I have had orange and white goldfish in my new pond since last fall. Now I have about fifty small silver fry in there. Can anyone tell me where these strange babies have come from? If they are from the pond stock, will they change color or stay silver?

Did your parents never have that talk with you?

Ha Ha Mucky! J I think they came from your pond fish and yes they usually do change colors. Could turn to pure white. all oj or oj an white. Usually tho goldfish fry are kind of dark colored first then turn colors. Maybe yours are just so small they look sliver now. Neat tho that you got free fish outta the deal

Yep, they will change colors. My wifes cousin had a baby a few years ago and it had 2 possible daddies. One white and one dark. They had to wait for about 6 hours until the color came before they could say who the daddy was.

umm that would be a long 6 hours, but a dark can have a white baby or all colors in between. All depends on how the genes mix

LOL, you guys are hilarious. I always heard dogs could have a litter of 10 puppies from 10 males, but never heard of a baby having 2 daddies ... ok, I know, you said 2 POSSIBLE daddies. It's still funny.
My goldfish tend to be light colored when I first notice them, or black, usually at about 1" before I see them the first time. The light colored ones have white and orange and black markings on them, and the black ones are usually solid, but change to orange/red as they get older, sometimes within a few months, others by the following year. Good luck with your new babies!

A young lady I scanned, years ago, was in tears during the scan. Finally asked her what was wrong. She said..........my husband is a red head, my on the side bf is black, can you tell me if the baby is a red head or a black?

I had to point out that the scan is in tones of gray, the fetus has no hair that we can see and we can't see the color. She was scared to death, I sort of wanted to tell her that is what happens when you mess around, but we have to keep out mouths shut! Never heard how it came out.
