Hi all,

I have my natural pond lined and next, will be mortaring rows of stones like the inspiration photo below. I’m reading How to Build a Natural Pool, in which several types of hydraulic cement are recommended.

Trass cement is expensive, if I can find it. Is some type of specialty hydraulic cement necessary for the ph?

Ideally, I would like to use white cement and a buff colored additive.

Thank you in advance!!!

Rapid Set Mortar Mix is similar to Portland cement products. It's stronger, sticks better and shrinks less. You can add cement colors but it is already light buff. Available at Home Depot.

I used it back in 2006 to seal my 9000 gal pond/reservoir and it's still holding up well.
