Hi , one of my shubunkin is spawning , i can see eggs falling from splashes , ihave seprated one pair.

I had spawning few times in past, 1st time ihad 30 frys but after that the rate of hatching was very less and survival of fry was almost zero , what should i do to have some fry this time?

Its narrow portion of pond so i cant use melafix for fungus but water flows thru it.

The eggs and fry need a lot of fine plant material to hide in. Aracharnis, hornwort, parrots feather, grasses. etc.

The fish eat them as quick as they lay them if there is no hiding spots.

I never remove eggs, so not the best to answer as far as fungus. The male fertilizes as she lays them.
