When the surf kicks up, the sea urchins lose their grip, wash ashore and the spines fall off. leaving the skeletons. I found 79 of them on one trip this week.

Love those urchins! We watch ospreys fishing all of the time down in florida, have not seen them here in the cold north, at least at our house.

awesome photos! Watching Osprey's fish is always amazing. A lot like a Kingfisher but Ospreys are such a large bird that it almost seems unnatural.
Those urchins are really cool.
