I have been reading obsessivly on this forum since I found it yesterday and my mind is swimming with all the information. I kept running into skippy filter and found a link so went to the website but I'm still not sure what it is. Is it a large rubbermaid tank filled with media that then flows into your waterfall and into the pond? Do you build around it so you don't see it? Is it plumbed into your waterfall or just have an overflow into it? My pond is 3000 gal so what size tank would I need? I'm thinking I could do this!

That is basically it mailmam. You can hide it with other plants around it and some floating ones on the surface to to soften the look. Get a 150 or 200 gallon size.

Oh yeah, you can use it as the top of your waterfall system. Get one of koiguys1969 waterfall weirs. That is the bomb deal.

Craft store is a great place to find filter media PS3. Also check out some fabric stores. They have lots of different densities of foam. If you want you could pre soak whatever you choose but I do not. Just a good rinse.

ahh.. the skippy filter...you dig a pond, what do you get? a large pile of dirt..what do you do with that dirt? pile some of it a round a skippy style stocktank filter.(or 2 if you like & if your ponds large enough to have 2 waterfalls) cover that mound(s) with rock and plants..fill the top of filter with water hiacynths and you end up with a virtually invisible lower profiled filter falls.3rd pic is full of hiacynths...these pics are with the top flat stone off to show weir and extension.
