sieves and settlement tanks

i was looking at http://www.russellwatergardens.com/Filters/Pond-Sieve.php to be place in-line with my bottom drain. do you need a settlement tank if your using a sieve. or can i just go from sieve to bio filter

no, you don't need a settlement tank if you have a sieve. The sieve is already getting the crap out if that makes sense.
