Hi,

This is my first post as a new member and I hope I can get some help with a problem I have with my Shubunkins. A couple of them have a large pink growth on the front of their pectoral fins. I know the males get something on their fins but this seems rather large.

I would appreciate any help/advice.

Thanks,

Jetstream

That is a beautiful fish. I tried to find something that talks about the red you are seeing, no luck.

Maybe someone else has seen it before.

Can you post your water tests? i.e. ammonia etc is all in the good range?

Whats the temperature of your pond please?
Te only thing I can think of that grow along the leading edges are Papilloma which is a little like fish pox and they infact do grow along the eading edges ofthe pectoral hence my question about temperature.
You see like fish pox they disapear when the weather warms up and its only on rare occaisions they dont disapear and have to b removed by surgical removal.
The only other thng I can think of is that they are breeding tubercled but I've never seen them this far back .

Further you have never metioned all the lumps along the sides of your fish this may change things a little, I'm off to look up something about them and will get back to you when I find what I'm looking for
