Should i Quarantine new fish?

Purchased 6 new fish online and should i put them in pond water but in a large container.
If so what should i add to the water and for how long?

Do you already have fish in the pond? If not, no need to quarantine. I don't add anything to my quarantine tank, just watch them for a couple of weeks.
