Does anyone have a diagnosis and, hopefully, a treatment? The fish appears to be active and eating with no signs of illness. All water chemicals are well within normal limits and the four companion fish have no evidence of a growth.

Welcome to the forum, although I'm sorry about your fish. It looks like some type of tumor and I have no experience to offer. I'm glad to hear it's still active and eating, so perhaps you can just monitor it?

Goldfish are prone to skin tumors, most of which are benign. If it interferes with swimming, you can have a veterinarian remove it, but they sometimes grow back.

We had one of these on a beautiful shubunkin. The fish thrived for three years and the tumor kept getting larger. Never seemed to bother him. Then one day this summer I noticed the fish floating in the pond. Tumor had ruptured. Fish was dead. It was sad, but no real solution to offer the fish as we don't have anyone near us who will treat pond fish. I guess I just hope those last moments were the only bad ones that fish had. In all other respects it was just like all of our other fish.
