Hiya,
I have just moved into a new house thats got a decent size pond, after I cleaned it out I am gonna stock it up but not sure how to set up the pump/filter/uv with a waterfall.
Not when I moved in the filter had been bypassed and the pump that was in the pond just went straight to the uv and then up to the waterfall and back into the pond, now my question is how can I set up my pump so it goes into the 55 gal barrel (filter) and then out to the uv and back out the waterfall. One thing though the barrel is slightly lower then the pond and a lot lower than the waterfall.
I thought about 2 pumps one in the pond and one in the barrel but I thought that was too risky if one went down, my barel only has 2 conections at the top but I can put more in if needed.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. A bit stuck tbh. Thx

could you run a pipe into the filter from the pump then a pipe from the filter to the uv etc?

Take some pictures of your setup, that always helps us help you.

Welcome to the forum
With one pump the only thing you can do is split the flow with a tee and valves from the pump. one line go,s to the uv the other to the drum

If she had a pressure filter or the filter was raised up that would work fine

I always thought should put the uv after the filter and not putting the water from it to the filter .That from the uv straight to the pond

my filter is a waterfall filter no piping as an output....its utilizes a weir so my U.V cant be plumbed after the filter....its always performed great. never clogged or gotten even dirty inside. but gravity feeding it would need 2 filter outputs or a single one split and only partial flow put thru the U.V. or a real low flow thru the filter to avoid overflowing it. plumbing it before or after a pressure filter would affect flow rate the same.....altho it may be more efficient after due to a cleaner water supply.
