Seepage problem

Covered my newly dug(not finished) pond before spring rains, afterwards had 2000gal. of water in it. Need help with french drain system. I want to ran a 4" drain along my bottom drain, all gravity fed, will this work?

Other than a sump pump this may be the only way.
