Lets post our first pond & what we have today. I think it's amazing how far we have come. My first pond was a preform that only lasted one year, than we went to a liner. I don't have a pic of the preform, but this is my first liner pond.

And this is today, well last summer.

I too love looking at what we all started with. We just keep getting bigger and better.

My pond is only less than a year old so it's my first pond right now. Love looking at the progress of everybody's pond.

Well, seeing as to how I enclosed my pond, it's not going to get that much larger, but it's amazing how every year, I seem to find room for more plants and statuary...or, so says my wife...she was a bit surprised the day I ordered some flocked geese decoys, you know, for ambiance. I think she rolled her eyes when I told her I thought a 'garden owl' (with real moving head and near realistic hoots!) would look good in the corner near the screened ceiling. But, I think she's balking at the full sized Flambeau buck decoy...

Excellent! But I'm more impressed with what you've done with your house. You painted the fence yellow, turned the siding on your house upright, added a canopy and tore your neighbor's house down. And got a puppy.

Ha Ha ... Actually, that is the garage. We tore the siding off and put up bead board. After a long debate, he gave in and let me paint that side of it yellow.

By the time we built our first (and so far only) pond, we had been on many, many pond walks - days when other pond owners allow you to invade their yard and view their pond and ask lots and lots of questions! If you ever get a chance to go on one, do it. It's a wonderful way to spend a summer day and you'll get lots and lots of ideas - and meet so many fun people! We were able to see 12-15 ponds per weekend for 5 or 6 weeks each summer - that's a lot of different designs and ideas! Anyway, the one thing we heard repeatedly was "build it as big as you have room for!"

Our first water in our garden was a pondless waterfall - we loved it so much that we started making pond plans that very same summer. We thought we would be happy with just the waterfall - in reality it was just a gateway drug!
