Repairing/ lining a cracked concrete pond

Hi there

I’m looking for advice on what to do with our cracked concrete pond. No idea how old it is but has had a crack in it for at least the 7 years I’ve lived here. I would love to get it up and going again but not sure what the best/easiest way to repair it is.
Do I repair the crack with some sort of mortar or line the pond with plastic? Hunter valley NSW Australia.
A lady I met recently lined her concrete pond with black plastic from Bunnings and stuck it down with flex tape. This sounds like an option I could manage on my own but not sure whether it’s ideal or what else I need to consider.

If I were to make a repair I would use Rapid Set Mortar Mix. I don't know its availability in Australia, It sticks better than Portland cement products, is stronger and doesn't shrink. First clean out the crack and the adjacent surface as well as you can. A wire brush and some muriatic acid would be helpful. Then apply the mortar mix with a trowel. It has a short working time (15 +/- minutes) so work with small batches. Fill the crack and extend a few inches on the surface left and right of the crack.
