I have a garden pond that came with our house when we bought it. The pond appears to be made of glass fibre, but has been painted with a black coating that is starting to crack and peel. The liner has a hole in it. I am quite happy to repair the liner by removing the coating around the hole and re-glassing, but could anyone tell me what the coating might be? Would it be normal to paint the inside of a fibre glass liner?
Many thanks.

How big is the pond? If it has been coated and if it has another hole in it then it may have reached the end of its useful life. If the pond isn't huge I would pull it out and either put in a new preformed or a liner. Sounds like you could be throwing good time and money into a bad pond.
