Hi, I bought one of those pond pumps from Tetra. It comes with a barbed adapter for 1.25" vinyl tubing, but I was wondering if it's possible to connect same size PVC fittings and pipes, to the tubing, adapter, or the pump itself.
I unplugged the power to the pump and all the water in the filter (waterfall type), drained back into the pond...This could have been disastrous if fish were in it, or if it occurred during an outage.
I did buy a threaded check valve but the threads on it are only an 1", while the pump's FPT is 1.25". My idea was to connect the valve directly to the pump, with a threaded nipple.
Now I'm stuck with an empty pond and a bunch of hardware and plumbing parts...What could I do to prevent unwanted backwash?
