Pump Problem

Hi. I have a 8000L per hour rated internal pump. Its been running for approx 1 1/2 years. Since the beginning of the summer I have noticed a somewhat reduced flow. I first checked my bio filter. There was no problems there. Then I took the pump out, removed the cage and it was pretty clean inside.
Problem is how do I check the impeller. Once I removed the cage, nothing else inside was removable. Not sure what to do. and the instructions are pretty lame and do not provide any information regarding maintenance. Any advice gals and guys would be most appreciative.

Hi John.

In the end I found three screws and took it apart. The impeller was clear of debris, but when I tried to turn it there was a small bit of resistance. Haven't been able to access the impeller shaft.

also using a method of filling up a 5litre bottle i was able to work out it is doing 4574.13per hour
