Can anyone recommend a good pond vac? My dad wants to buy me one but not sure which are good and sure some are not worth the money.
Anyone have a particular brand/type they use are are happy with results? Where to buy?? Any advice appreciated.

Thanks for the info Addy. I am still not sure they are worth the expense. If I knew they worked really well I would feel better about getting one. I just have to do a little more research I guess.
Have not tried to use a shop vac, just been netting out the leaves that get in. I do have it covered in netting but some leaves find their way in.

I do have some mulm in the bottom. Have netted some out. Not sure how important to get most of that out. My fish load is low for the size of my pond.

My pond is sort of big, unable to anti leaf net it easily. Every now and then I net out some of the bottom muck, but recently there has not been much. I choose to stick with a pool net to remove stuff, then I sort out the critters and toss them back in. With a vac I would be killing off the snails, tads etc. It does not take long to do, sort of relaxing. A shop vac did not work well for my pond, not good enough pull for the depth of the pond. The shallow ponds it worked, but too much work to use it lol.

As long as the collection does not get real deep I (IMHO) don't worry about it. give the snails, tads, dragon fly larvae a place to call home.
