i am just about finished my new pond i have a wide mouthed wall skimmer to install it has a double lip gasket and i dont know where it goes? my pond wall is constructed of 10mm exterior plywood and i dont know if the liner is supposed to sit in the lip of the gasket or if the gasket sits around the hole in the plywood or the rear of the ply or in front of the ply? if i put it in fron or rear then the plywood is open to water and most definatley will leek . or do i just leave the gasket off and silicone all around the opening and over the bare plywood ? pls HELP !!!!

i would recommend draping the line all the way over the plywood on both sides then cut out a whole in the plywood and each side of the liner that your going to mount the skimmer to then silicone around both sides of the skimmer and use the gasket on the side that the water comes in from your pond

We put our wide mouth skimmer in a wood frame, to support it. The liner is attached right to the skimmer mouth. We used the gaskets that came with it, also used pl roofing goop on both sides of the liner to make sure we had no leaks.

This is its third summer, still no leaks doing great.

The other thing we did was leave the liner loose below the skimmer, so if there was any shifting the skimmer would not pull on the liner.

actually im sorry put the skimmer against the plywood and trace around then inside mouth of it then cut the plywood out first then drape the liner over the plywood then screw your skimmer on it using silicone on each side and the gasket on pond side then once you get it all screwed together you can take a utility knife and cut out the liner where the mouth of the skimmer is
