I have a 300 gal pond. We have 11 large goldfish 6in. They are very healthy. Our water is clear but the pond looks dirty. Only a little alga. It has a water fall filter and a external filter. Why does our pond look dirty when the water is clear?

A lot of goldfish in a small pond equals a lot of fish poo! I read you had a 1000 gal pond back in 2021 didn't I? If that is the size then I think you are good. Maybe the bottom of the pond needs some scooping w/a long handled net to remove some rotting things?
Lots of plants are good also.
Start digging a bigger pond if it's only 300 gals

Guess it depends on your definition of dirt. Some people call algae dirty but you mention that. Then there is the mulm and detritus that accumulates in a biological environment. Pictures and more info about your filtration and setup might give us more insight.

We have to remember what we consider dirt to many wild life inhabitants that dirt is black gold or you may be right and in your case you maybe 11 - 6" gold fish in a 300 aquarium with a crazy Stewart it may work just fine . Then you have a Stewart who is great with parameters with test kits but never cleans the bottom with a vac then there's the never feeds they eat what grows in the pond and they seem to stabilize their environment. So if you have mulm or sediment on the bottom maybe it's time to do some vacuuming

Thanks to everyone. Looks like its time to vacuum. Maybe the vacuum does more than I think.
