pond liner

hey all, finally stretched out my new 45mil over my 16 by 20 hole. i put some bumps and different levels of depth to make it more interesting. plus some sandbag shelves .question is how can i keep the liner wrinkle free. i can't see how i will ever be able to accomplish this.:alieneyesa:

It usually ends up having some folds, you can attempt to tape them down if they bother you. They get covered by dirt algae and even begin to look like a rock bottom.

Some tape the folds so there is no dead water areas. Others just leave them be.

Yep you just have to do the best you can w/ the wrinkles. Fill slowly w/ water and try to smooth out and fold the way you want it to look the best. After awhile you won't notice them and the water pressure helps push them flat too.

I have some rosy-red minnows who have decided to stake out the liner folds as caves for themselves. At least I don't have to worry about dead water areas!

As you slowly fill the pond, the weight of the water will hold the liner to the bottom. Simply pull on the sides of the liner to smooth out any wrinkles, and keep working all the way around the pond as the water level comes up. The folds will practically create themselves, you just need to smooth them down neatly. Even if you don't get every last wrinkle out of the liner (and you won't), do not worry about it. As mentioned above, once the pond really starts to grow in, you won't notice the wrinkles.
