I am just starting my 465 gallon raised wooden pond project with a 5 foot viewing window, it will be 8 x 4 feet, my question is, after some reading is that I would like to buy a 1mm butyl pond liner which I believe is the best, ( as I don't like to skimp lol) I know these are more expensive but are they worth the money or am I just going over the top for what I am trying to achieve ?

I've never heard of a 1mm butyl pond liner either.

Common liner around here is 45 mil epdm. Seems like everyone who has a pond uses it.

my pond will be made from 6" x 4" square lengths the internals will be 8 x 4 feet and 28" deep, in the front I will cut out a panel which will be 5m feet x 18" tall in the centre then fit with a piece of glass, so when I am sat in the conservatory and it to cold to sit outside I can see the fish swimming around in the pond.
