Hi all,

I live in Sydney Australia and inherited a pond when I moved into my house 8 years ago. Since then I've learned a great deal about maintaining a pond and caring for fish and found out how enjoyable the hobby can be.

This forum contains a wealth of information to assist any pond owner although I haven't found an answer to my current dilemma of my goldfish destroying my water lilies so I've asked my first question in the "Aquatic Plants" forum.

Cheers,
Alison

WELCOME TO THE GROUP... as far as the fish tearing up the lillies. i had this problem with my koi..they used to tear off little chunks from the pads. but last year they started biting them off at or just above the rhyzone. 20+ pads floating almost everyday for a couple weeks. it was ridiculous. but this is the first ive heard of this problem with goldies. i used to have 60 - 70 goldies in my pond at any given time till i gave them away and never saw them perpetrate any plant destruction.except algea eating..but thats a good thing.
