I NJ I had a board painted black with tubing stapled to it and sent my fountain water to it until the year we had the worst snow storm ever and it buried it in snow .
I switched from a tubing board to a glass faced collector, which was easier to brush off. Being from N.J. that makes me shiver

That thing worked for 5 years so can't really complain .I used an old mirror I found for awhile until i retired and moved to VA .I thought about setting it up again her but have never gotten to doing it .Plus my pond here is not far from my septic tank so it collects free heat given off by that .About 5 feet from it .All the leach field is in the front yard .
