I need to go ahead and start ordering what I need for the winter months and was interested in the pond breather. Turns out API has discontinued it and i cant find it anywhere online. Does anybody know another company or source that may have it?

Oh my goodness! Even Amazon has them listed as “currently unavailable.” I wonder what happened….did the company fold?

@Jagsfan Do you expect your pond to freeze?

This is horrible news. I was just thinking about looking into buying a backup since mine is quite a few years old now and it's only a mtter of time before it dies.

I'm genuinely not sure what to do now.

I don't see any followup but were it me, I'd add a small aquarium pump and clear tubing, I'd also add roof/gutter heat wire. In other words, mimic the PondBreather as much as possible. It's not a complex design.

It could freeze. Winters in Northern Virginia aren't typically too bad, but temps do drop well below freezing on occasion. I have just heard really good things about the breathers and thought I would pick one up instead of the typical heater.

All you need to do is cut the little cage open and put in a new small pump. I managed to snag enough of them at $17 per I have good back up.

That's a good idea. I guess my bigger concern would be with the heat strip.

I'd also add roof/gutter heat wire.

I'm not really familiar with that. Anything electrical and around water bothers me because I don't know what I'm doing.
