I forgot the name of this plant but back in the spring, you all gave me a number of non-traditional waterplants that can grow in very shallow water. They are not marketed as plants but all of them have done really, really well. So thanks.

My question has to do with this arrowhead shaped cutie. I experimented by putting one in water and one in a traditional pot and not in water (see both photos). The one in the pot did slightly better but both are fine and added color to the otherwise green plants I have.

The question is, will this survive the zone 7 winter? Or maybe it's an annual.

Thanks

Caladium. They need a dormant period in winter. Stop watering, and let the plant dry up. Store the tubers at room temperature, and re-pot in late winter, increasing the temperature to 75-85, and start watering.
