Hi im new to forum got problem with my pond it has a low ph level can i using baking soda to increase level thanks for reading.

Yikes! That's a low pH level. You may not have much of any beneficial bacteria left in water that acidic.

Baking soda works very well. Just be sure to raise the pH slowly so as not to stress the fish. It will take several days, not hours.

Make sure your ammonia level is good, as in zero, before raising the pH. Ammonia is more toxic at a higher pH.

If there is ammonia present, Prime will bind it so it's not harmful to the fish, if there are any, and you can raise the pH. But for this purpose, Prime lasts for only 48 hours and you will need to dose it again. You will need to keep doing that until the ammonia is at zero.

Our well reads around 5.3. I was not aware of the ph until every fish I put in died in about 45 minutes.

What I did was get the bog running, left the pond empty for about 6 months. With the bog running, plants growing, the ph climbed to about 7.5 or so and is stable.

Just noticed my ph level has gone from 7 this morning to just under 9 now but sun has recently come off pond is this a factor as its fluctuating thanks for reading.
